The Division of Bone and Mineral Diseases at Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis is an independent Division within the Department of Internal Medicine, with a long history of excellence in research, teaching and patient care.

Its mission is to advance the knowledge of skeletal biology in health and disease through cutting edge research, to provide advanced care to patients with osteoporosis and other metabolic disorders of the skeleton, and to prepare the next generation of scientists and physicians focused on skeletal metabolism.

Currently under the leadership of Dr. Roberto Civitelli, the Division of Bone and Mineral Diseases is home to a cadre of outstanding scientists and highly specialized clinicians, who continue in the tradition of leadership and world-class accomplishments in this area of biomedicine.
